The obvious question is why a blog. Some simple reasons:
1) it is much easier to update and add links here than on my University web page.
2) something keeps happening to the links on my university web page.
3) opportunity for people to leave comments in an anonymous way where others can see them.
Have a look now and then. I will try to provide useful links and updates.

1)I just read for the first time your views on a state supported university. Might I say that I totally agree with what was said. With the opportunity to study in Jamaica now, I see how much Barbadians have. I had the chance to go to the Students' Loan Office here and was quite surprised to see that even the application form costs about 4USD (250JA)In Barbados, these application forms are free. In addition to of this, the loan (in Jamaica)carries an interest of 16%, higher than a business loan. Many students find themselves paying for the loan and allowing the interest to rise. I takes about 10 years to repay, and failure to do so could result in having your name published in the daily newspaper. A middle class Jamaican at university is therefore not the same as a middle class Barbadian at university. They also face further challenges because of the size of their island: most need to live on campus, thus having a need to budget for rent and food in addition to books and transportation. I think most Barbadians don't appreciate what they have. I think you shoud publish your article in the local newspaper if you have not already done so.
2)How often are articles placed on your blog? I only see up to February.
